Accused in Mumbai Fraud Arrested

The accused, Vishnu Rathi, involved in swindling $4 million from an American citizen, has been arrested in Mumbai. This operation was conducted with the assistance of the CBI and the FBI. Vishnu Rathi had transferred $450,000 from an American woman’s bank account to his cryptocurrency wallet in 2022, falsely claiming that her bank account had issues and required technical help.

The CBI conducted raids at 7 locations in Mumbai and Kolkata, recovering 57 gold bars, ₹1.6 million in cash, a mobile phone, and documents related to cryptocurrency.

Explosion in Kolkata

An explosion occurred on SN Banerjee Road in Kolkata, injuring a woman. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) investigated the scene, and traffic has been restored to normal.
