Man Killed, Child Injured After Car Hit by Train in Arunachal Pradesh

In Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Siang district, a tragic accident occurred when a car was struck by a train while crossing the tracks, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old man and injuring a child. An official reported this on Saturday.

According to Ganesh Hazarika, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Government Railway Police (GRP), the incident took place around 3:50 PM on Friday near Paley, close to Dimow. The deceased has been identified as Rigio Reba, a sub-inspector with the Indian Reserve Battalion. Reba was traveling with his seven-year-old grandson from Pasighat in East Siang district to their native village. He was stationed in Pasighat at the time.

Hazarika detailed that as Reba was crossing the tracks in his car, the vehicle was struck by the Murkangselek-Tezpur special train, which dragged the car for at least a kilometer. The train was en route to Dekargao in Assam’s Tezpur district.
