A 20-year-old fruit seller, Ali Khan, was arrested in Thane’s Dombivali district after a video showing him urinating into a plastic bag and resuming fruit sales without washing his hands went viral on social media.
The incident occurred in Nilje market, prompting local outrage, and the market was vandalized by residents following the video’s circulation. The situation has since been brought under control, according to Manpada Police.
Khan has been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for negligent and obscene acts. An investigation is ongoing.
