Paris Paralympics: Harvinder Singh and Preeti Pal to be Flagbearers at Closing Ceremony

Gold medalist archer Harvinder Singh and Preeti Pal, the first Indian woman to win two medals in Paralympic athletics, will be the flagbearers for India at the closing ceremony of the Paris Paralympics.

Harvinder, 33, is the first Indian archer to win a gold medal at the Paralympics. He had previously won a bronze medal in Tokyo 2021. He expressed that winning gold for India feels like a dream come true, and being a flagbearer at the closing ceremony is the greatest honor. He hopes his achievements will inspire others to realize their dreams.

Preeti Pal, 23, who won bronze medals in the T35 100 and 200 meters, expressed pride in being the flagbearer, not just for herself but for every para-athlete who has overcome challenges to bring pride to the country.

Saty Prakash Sangwan, the head of the Indian delegation, stated that the performances of these athletes will inspire future generations. India has so far won six golds, nine silvers, and a total of 26 medals, marking its best performance at the Paralympics.
