Six members of two families from Bengaluru were killed and five others, including a one-year-old boy, were injured in a severe head-on collision between two cars in Tumakuru district, Karnataka, early Monday. The victims, all residents of JP Nagar in Bengaluru, were identified as Janardhan Reddy (60), Sindhu Reddy (33), Vedas Reddy (12), Anand (30), Nagaraj (33), and Siddaganga (35). They were returning from Hosakote after celebrating the Ganesh festival when the accident occurred near Keregalapalya village in Madhugiri taluk. The crash involved a Nexa and a Tiago, both of which were extensively damaged. Rescue operations required cranes to extract the injured and deceased from the wreckage. The injured are currently being treated at the government district hospital in Tumakuru. The Madhugiri police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
