Indian Ambassador to France, Jawed Ashraf, had the honor of meeting the Indian Paralympic team in Paris on Monday, celebrating their groundbreaking achievement at the 2024 Paralympics. The team secured a record 29 medals, including seven golds, nine silvers, and 13 bronzes, marking the most successful performance in the history of Indian Paralympic participation. Ashraf expressed his admiration for the athletes, noting the profound impact of their success on the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the athletes, calling the Games “special and historical” and praising their dedication and spirit. He highlighted the new records set, including Avani Lekhara’s historic dual gold medals and India’s first-ever one-two finish in the men’s club throw F51 event with Dharambir and Parnav Soorma. Modi emphasized the inspiration these achievements bring to future athletes and the joy they have brought to the country.
