Election Commission’s Address on EVM Concerns
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar addressed concerns about the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He responded to questions regarding the security and reliability of EVMs by explaining the thorough process they undergo. He emphasized that EVMs are not connected devices and cannot be hacked like pagers or other connected devices. The machines are checked six months prior to the elections, sealed, and constantly monitored under political party supervision.
Kumar also addressed concerns humorously with phrases such as, “कुछ तो लोग कहेंगे, लोगों का काम है कहना,” indicating that despite various rumors, the facts about EVMs would be addressed with full transparency.
