The Congress party has announced its third and fourth lists of candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, scheduled for October 5. The third list features 40 names, including prominent figures such as former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan, who will contest from Panchkula, and former minister Nirmal Singh, running from Ambala City. The fourth list includes five candidates, with notable names like Aditya Surjewala, the son of MP Randeep Surjewala, who will stand for election from Kaithal.
The Congress has now released candidates for 86 of Haryana’s 90 assembly seats. The remaining four seats—Sohna, Bhiwani, Narnaund, and Uklana—are yet to be finalized, with the deadline for nominations set for today.
In contrast, the BJP has released its third list of three candidates, filling all 90 seats. The BJP’s list includes Rohtash Jangra from Sirsa, Kanwar Singh Yadav from Mahendragarh, and Satish Fagna from Faridabad NIT.
The Congress’s failure to reach a seat-sharing agreement with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) highlights the growing rivalry between the two parties. The AAP, which is contesting independently, has also announced its candidates, reflecting the competitive landscape of the Haryana elections.
