India and the UAE have sealed pivotal agreements focusing on long-term LNG supply and civil nuclear cooperation. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s discussions with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the two nations explored expanding cooperation into areas like AI and critical minerals.
The agreements include a 15-year LNG supply deal with ADNOC, a civil nuclear partnership between India’s Nuclear Power Corporation and the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, and enhanced UAE participation in India’s strategic petroleum reserves. Additionally, a new production concession for crude oil from Abu Dhabi Onshore Block 1 and a food park development in Gujarat were agreed upon.
The visit underscored the growing strategic ties between the nations, highlighted by Modi and Sheikh Khaled’s discussions on broadening their partnership to include advanced technologies and green energy initiatives. The UAE’s recent achievements, such as the completion of its first nuclear power plant, were also acknowledged as part of the evolving bilateral relationship.
