Mumbai Fraud Case: Vishnu Rathi, accused of defrauding an American citizen of 4 crore rupees, has been arrested in Mumbai. This operation also involved assistance from the CBI and the FBI.
In 2022, Vishnu Rathi transferred $450,000 from an American woman’s bank account to his cryptocurrency wallet, convincing her that her account had issues and needed technical help.
After registering the case, the CBI conducted raids at 7 locations in Mumbai and Kolkata, collecting evidence including 57 gold bars, 1.6 million rupees in cash, a mobile phone, and documents related to cryptocurrency.
Explosion in Kolkata: An explosion occurred on SN Banerjee Road in Kolkata, injuring a woman. The blast happened between Blochman Street and SN Banerjee Road at 1:45 PM. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) investigated a suspicious bag at the scene. Traffic has resumed as usual.

Government Lifts Export Price Limits: The government has removed the minimum export price (MEP) limits on onions and basmati rice to boost exports and farmer income. The export duty on onions has been reduced from 40% to 20%, effective from September 14. This decision comes ahead of assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, major producers of basmati rice.
