Six New Vande Bharat Trains Flagged Off in Jharkhand, PM Modi’s Jamshedpur Roadshow Cancelled Due to Weather

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off six new Vande Bharat Express trains on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, from Ranchi, Jharkhand. These trains will connect various cities across Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, promising improved connectivity and travel times.

Initially, the Prime Minister was scheduled to flag off the trains from Tatanagar, Jamshedpur. However, due to poor visibility and heavy rainfall, his chopper was unable to land. The event was then shifted to Ranchi, where Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar were present at the Tatanagar station.

The six newly launched Vande Bharat trains will operate on the following routes:

  • Tatanagar-Patna
  • Brahmapur-Tatanagar
  • Rourkela-Howrah
  • Deoghar-Varanasi
  • Bhagalpur-Howrah
  • Gaya-Howrah

These trains are expected to significantly benefit travelers, including professionals, businesspeople, and students, offering faster and more efficient travel options.

The introduction of these high-speed trains is anticipated to boost religious tourism in the region. Pilgrimage sites like Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, and Kalighat and Belur Math in Kolkata will become more accessible with the improved travel times.

The statement from the Prime Minister’s Office also highlighted the potential benefits for various industries in the region, including coal and mines in Dhanbad, jute industries in Kolkata, and the iron & steel sector in Durgapur.

Jamshedpur Roadshow Cancelled Due to Heavy Rains

Following the cancellation of the Prime Minister’s visit to Tatanagar, his scheduled roadshow in Jamshedpur was also cancelled due to heavy rains. State BJP president Babulal Marandi announced the cancellation on X (formerly Twitter).

The launch of these new Vande Bharat trains represents a significant step towards improving connectivity and boosting economic development in the region. With the potential to attract tourists and support various industries, these high-speed trains are expected to have a positive impact on the overall development of the region.
