Stone Pelting on Procession in Jahazpur, Shahpura: Markets Closed, Police Deployed, MLA Stages Sit-In

In the Jahazpur town of Shahpura district, a procession taken out on the occasion of Jaljhulani Ekadashi came under sudden stone-pelting, leading to a tense situation. The unexpected attack caused chaos, forcing the procession to halt in the market area. The atmosphere quickly became heated, resulting in the closure of markets. Following the incident, locals staged a sit-in demanding the arrest of the culprits involved in the stone-pelting.

MLA Joins Sit-In, Police Intervention

Upon receiving information about the incident, MLA Gopichand Meena arrived at the scene and joined the injured in a sit-in protest near the Kalyanji Temple. The protestors performed “Sundar Kand” and recited the “Hanuman Chalisa” to voice their dissent. Their primary demand is the immediate arrest of those who carried out the stone-pelting.

Police Deployment and Detention of 9 Individuals

In response to the situation, police personnel were quickly deployed to the area. Deputy SP Ajit Singh Meghwanshi and SHO Narpat Ram Bana, along with their teams, managed to bring the situation under control. Shahpura SP Rajesh Kanwat reported that nine individuals have been identified and detained so far. The police are continuing their investigation to find others involved and ascertain their roles in the incident.

Markets Closed, Situation Under Control

Following the stone-pelting, the town’s residents shut down the market in protest. The procession has been halted, and those sitting in protest have stated that they will continue their agitation until the culprits are arrested. Currently, the presence of police forces has helped keep the situation under control, and law enforcement is actively monitoring the area.

The police and local administration are making efforts to de-escalate the tensions. Although the town remains on edge after the incident, the deployment of police forces has kept the situation under control.
