Bahraich Violence: Encounter of 2 Accused, Police Captures Them on Nepal Border
In a recent case of communal violence in Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, the police encountered two accused, Sarfaraz Khan and Mohammad Taleem, near the Nepal border. Both were shot in the legs and have been hospitalized. Additionally, Sarfaraz’s brother Fahim, father Abdul, and Mohammad Afzal have also been arrested by the police on murder charges.
The violence erupted on October 13 when some youths demanded the DJ be turned off during a Durga idol procession, leading to a dispute, stone-pelting, arson, and subsequent gunfire. This incident resulted in the death of 22-year-old Ram Gopal and caused damage to several homes. The police are actively pursuing the apprehension of the accused in this case.
Advance Booking for Train Tickets Reduced to 60 Days, New Rules Effective from November 1
Indian Railways has changed its rules, reducing the advance booking limit for train tickets from 120 days to 60 days. This new rule will come into effect on November 1. The new regulations will not apply to tickets already booked.
In 2015, the advance booking period was increased from 60 days to 120 days with the rationale of discouraging brokers, but it has now been revised downwards considering the convenience of passengers.
Sanskrit to Be Taught in Madrasas in Uttarakhand, Awaiting State Government Approval
The proposal to teach Sanskrit in madrasas in Uttarakhand is gaining traction. Mufti Shamoon, the chairman of the Madrasa Board, has sought approval from the state government for this initiative.
Sanskrit will be taught as an optional subject in madrasas, allowing students to gain knowledge of both Arabic and Sanskrit. Shadab Shams, the chairman of the State Waqf Board, has supported this initiative, believing it will contribute to the holistic development of madrasa students.

Nayab Singh Saini has taken the oath of office as Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time. Along with him, 13 ministers were sworn in, including 5 ministers from the OBC category. Two ministers each have been appointed from the Jat, Brahmin, and Scheduled Caste categories.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from 18 states. The first meeting of the new cabinet will take place today.
