BJP Wins Third Consecutive Term in Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini to Take Oath on Dussehra

The BJP won 48 seats in the Haryana assembly elections, securing its third consecutive term. This is the first time a party has formed the government three times in a row in the state. Nayab Singh Saini is set to become the Chief Minister, and the oath-taking ceremony may happen on Dussehra, October 12. Congress secured 37 seats out of 90.

Key Results from Hot Seats:

Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda won the Garhi-Sampla seat by 71,000 votes.

Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat won Julana by 6,015 votes.

Former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala of JJP lost Ucchana Kalan by 41,000 votes, while INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala lost Ellenabad by 15,000 votes.

Savitri Jindal, the richest female candidate, won from Hisar by 18,941 votes.

All Exit Polls in Haryana Failed: On October 5, 11 exit polls predicted a Congress victory. Some polls even predicted Congress winning 59 seats, but the results proved all the polls wrong.

NC-Congress Win in J&K; Omar Abdullah Likely to Take Oath as CM on October 11 or 12

In Jammu & Kashmir, the National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance won 49 seats, enough to form the government. NC secured 42 seats, Congress won 6, and CPI(M) secured 1. Omar Abdullah is set to become the CM. BJP won 29 seats, while Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP won 3, and AAP also secured 1 seat. BJP state president Ravinder Raina lost to an NC candidate from Nowshera and has sent his resignation to the party.

BJP Dominates in Jammu but Fails in Kashmir: Out of the 90 seats, 43 are in Jammu, and 47 are in Kashmir. BJP won 29 seats in Jammu but failed to win any in Kashmir. NC’s 42 seats included over 35 from Kashmir. Congress secured 6 seats there. NC contested 51 seats, and Congress 32.
