A shocking murder has unfolded in southeast Delhi’s Jaitpur Extension, where 50-year-old Unani doctor Javed Akhtar was shot dead inside his cabin at Nima Hospital on Thursday. The police have detained one of the two suspects involved, both allegedly teenagers, in connection with the brutal killing.
The suspect, during interrogation, revealed disturbing details, claiming that he was hired by the husband of a nurse who worked at the hospital. The nurse’s husband reportedly suspected Akhtar of having an affair with his wife and plotted the murder to eliminate him. In exchange, the husband promised the young boy the hand of his daughter in marriage if he carried out the killing.
The minor suspect, who was in love with the nurse’s daughter, accepted the proposal and even withdrew money from the husband’s ATM account to carry out the plan. These claims are currently under investigation by the police.
Tracking Through Social Media and CCTV Footage
Authorities were alerted to the incident by a distress call received at 1:45 am. Upon arrival, they found Akhtar’s lifeless body slumped in his chair. CCTV footage from the hospital showed the two boys calmly walking into the facility, heading straight to Akhtar’s cabin, and shooting him without hesitation.
The police were able to trace the suspect through his Instagram account, where he had posted a photo with a pistol, boasting, “First murder of 2024.” This chilling social media post played a crucial role in identifying and tracking down the teenage suspect.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, with police verifying the claims made by the suspect and working to apprehend the second individual involved in the crime.
