The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. Following the Test series, India will play the T20 matches in Gwalior, New Delhi, and Hyderabad. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was part of the T20 World Cup-winning team, has made his return after being rested during the Sri Lanka T20 series. However, Ishan Kishan has been overlooked again, and Rishabh Pant has been rested after recently returning to all formats for India.
For the Bangladesh series, Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma will serve as wicketkeeper-batsmen. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav has earned his first call-up to the Indian squad, while spinner Varun Chakravarthy has also made a comeback after nearly three years. However, Kuldeep Yadav has not been included for this series.
Mayank Yadav’s Entry
Mayank Yadav, who played for IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants, impressed everyone with his speed. He took seven wickets in four matches before being sidelined due to injury. He had a dream IPL debut, claiming three wickets and winning the Player of the Match award. During IPL 2024, Mayank bowled at speeds exceeding 155 km/h.
India’s three-match T20 series against Bangladesh will start on October 6 in Gwalior, followed by the second match on October 9 in New Delhi and the final match on October 12 in Hyderabad.
