GURUGRAM: A tragic accident occurred on Sunday in Gurugram’s DLF Phase II on Golf Course Road, where 23-year-old Akshat Garg lost his life after colliding with an SUV being driven on the wrong side of the road. Akshat, a resident of Dwarka, Delhi, was riding his bike with friends when the fatal crash took place. The incident was captured on a GoPro camera mounted on his friend’s bike.

In the video, Akshat can be seen riding with a helmet and gloves. As he was taking a slight turn, a Mahindra XUV 3OO driving on the wrong side of the road suddenly appeared and collided head-on with his bike. The impact threw Akshat behind the SUV, severely damaging the front of the vehicle. Despite a rapid ambulance response, Akshat succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the SUV was arrested but released on bail shortly after. Akshat’s mother has expressed her outrage, questioning why the driver was granted bail. “My son is gone, but the person who caused this is sleeping peacefully. Why isn’t the police helping us?” she said, demanding justice for her son.

The Gurugram Police have registered an FIR under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and confirmed the arrest of the SUV driver. The police also noted that they had issued over 16,000 challans for wrong-side driving in August and assured that strict action will continue to prevent such incidents.
