Lucknow Building Collapse: Death Toll Rises to 8 as Rescue Operations Continue

Lucknow – The death toll from the building collapse in Lucknow has reached eight, with rescuers recovering three additional bodies from the debris. The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening in the Transport Nagar area, also left at least 28 people injured.

The building, which housed godowns and a motor workshop, crumbled around 4:45 PM. Rescue teams from the fire department, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are actively working at the scene to locate any remaining survivors. Senior officials are overseeing the operations to ensure no one else is trapped.

The injured have been admitted to various hospitals, including Lok Bandhu Hospital. According to survivors, including Akash Singh who was working in the medical godown, a crack in a pillar was noticed before the collapse.

Condolences have been extended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is monitoring the situation and ensuring the injured receive free treatment.
