In a recent crackdown by the Telangana Excise Enforcement team, a woman was arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly selling marijuana disguised in turmeric packets. Authorities seized 10 such packets containing the illegal substance.
The operation took place in the Doolpet area of Hyderabad, where the accused, identified as Neha Bai, was apprehended by the Excise Enforcement officials. The team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tirupati Yadav and Sub-Inspector (SI) Nagaraj, conducted the raid, leading to the seizure of the marijuana and her arrest.
Praising the efforts of the enforcement team, Enforcement Director VB Kamalasan Reddy acknowledged their role in exposing this innovative method of concealing and selling narcotics.
In a related development in the national capital, the Delhi Crime Branch intercepted a major drug trafficking operation, seizing over one quintal of marijuana. Two individuals, linked to an interstate drug network, were arrested near the Narela area. The duo, identified as Sahab Singh and Pradeep Kumar, both from Sonipat, Haryana, were caught after authorities acted on intelligence inputs regarding the transportation of narcotics from Odisha.
The marijuana was discovered hidden in a secret compartment of a truck, which was en route to Delhi. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are ongoing in both cases.
