A violent altercation over dancing to DJ music at a Ganesh pandal in Chhattisgarh's Durg district resulted in the deaths of three men and injuries to another. The clash occurred on Saturday night at the Sheetla Mandir area under the jurisdiction of the Nandini police station, according to local police reports.
The incident began when two groups, initially clashing on Friday over the music at the pandal organized by the Sheetla Mandir Ganesh Samiti, were separated by local mediators. However, tensions flared again on Saturday night.
During the renewed conflict, both groups engaged in a violent confrontation involving sticks and sharp-edged weapons. This clash led to the fatalities of three men—identified as Karan Yadav, Rajesh Yadav, and Vasu Yadav—from one group. Akash Patel, a member of the opposing group, sustained injuries.
Authorities have arrested 15 individuals from both groups in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing as police seek to uncover more details about the violence that occurred.
