A tragic accident occurred on Sunday afternoon in Lower Parel, Mumbai, where a speeding car collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to two others.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. near the new Lower Parel Bridge, close to Currey Road in Central Mumbai. An electric car traveling towards Senapati Bapat Road struck a motorcycle making a right turn at the Matulya Naka signal junction.
The collision severely injured the three people on the motorcycle, who have been identified as Ayush Kailash Singh (20), Shivam Kamlesh Singh (22), and Vishal Prembahadur Singh (21). They were all residents of Worli, Mumbai.
Emergency responders, including passersby and police, quickly transported the injured to Nair Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Ayush Singh was pronounced dead on arrival. The other two individuals are currently receiving medical treatment.
The driver of the car, Manish Chandrabhanu Singh (25), a resident of Kurla, has been apprehended by the police. He has been taken into custody and is facing charges under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
In a separate incident earlier in the week, a 27-year-old woman, Shahana Kazi, lost her life in Malad when a speeding car hit her. The driver reportedly dragged her for some distance before taking her to the hospital, where she was declared dead.
