An Israeli airstrike in Beirut resulted in the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, with intelligence reportedly provided by an undercover Iranian spy.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) received information from the Iranian agent, leading them to an underground bunker where Nasrallah was hiding. This location, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, was reportedly Hezbollah’s headquarters. The strike took place shortly after a crucial meeting between Nasrallah and senior Hezbollah members.
According to a report by Le Parisien, Nasrallah’s position was revealed just hours before the airstrike. At 11 AM Lebanon time, Israel confirmed the attack on social media, stating that Nasrallah had been eliminated.
Hezbollah’s Future After Nasrallah’s Death
This incident has deepened the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, with reports suggesting Israel’s intent to weaken Hezbollah’s leadership. The group, established in the 1980s, now faces significant challenges after losing several key figures.
Rising Middle East Tensions
The escalation followed Hezbollah’s support of Hamas, a group responsible for the October 7 attack on Israel. This attack, which claimed the lives of over 1,200 civilians, prompted severe retaliation from Israel, killing thousands in Gaza, including civilians, according to local reports.
The conflict continues to dominate the region, further destabilizing the political and security situation across the Middle East.
