In Italy, Fabrizio Longo, the 62-year-old chief of luxury car brand Audi in the country, died after falling from a 10,000-foot-high mountain. The incident occurred on Saturday while Longo was climbing the Adamelò mountain near the Italy-Switzerland border.

Longo lost his balance and fell into a deep gorge just before reaching the summit. A companion who was with him immediately informed the rescue team. A helicopter team was dispatched to search for him, and his body was found 700 feet below. He was declared dead at the scene.

Accident Despite Safety Measures

Longo’s body has been taken to the Carisolo hospital for further investigation. According to a report by the British newspaper The Sun, Longo was wearing all the necessary safety equipment at the time of the fall. The police are now investigating how the accident occurred despite the safety measures being in place.

The police have stated that the situation will become clearer once the post-mortem report is available. After the post-mortem, Longo’s body will be handed over to his family, and funeral arrangements will be announced.

A Passion for Mountains: A Seasoned Climber

Born in Rimini, Italy, in 1962, Fabrizio Longo graduated with a degree in Political Science. He began his career with Fiat in 1987 and eventually became the chief of the Lancia brand thanks to his marketing skills.

In 2012, Longo began his journey with Audi, becoming the chief of Audi Italy the following year. He was also an advocate for environmental conservation and frequently participated in campaigns to raise awareness about environmental protection.
