Amid ongoing Russian bombardments, Ukraine successfully intercepted dozens of attacking drones on Saturday. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that 67 drone attacks were launched overnight across the country, prompting air defense systems to be activated in Kyiv and 11 other regions. Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down 58 drones and destroyed three others using electronic warfare systems. Debris from one of the drones was found on the streets outside the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada. While the presence of drone fragments was confirmed, there were no casualties or damage reported to the parliament building.
This attack follows a week of extensive long-range assaults on Ukraine, including a missile strike on the Ukrainian military academy and hospital in Poltava on Tuesday, which resulted in 55 deaths and 328 injuries. Another attack in Lviv on Wednesday claimed the lives of seven individuals. Meanwhile, Kyiv continues its offensive operations against Russia. On Saturday, Governor Alexander Gusev reported that drone strikes had caused fires and explosions in the Russian border area of Voronezh.
